Overview
Parsons has provided design and management services to educational clients for more than 40 years. We are recognized for understanding our clients’ needs and our innovative solutions to addressing those needs. Parsons' ability to serve our educational clients was further strengthened in 2006 with the acquisition of 3D/International Inc. (3D/I), a national leader in program management for educational clients.
Markets
K-12 – Parsons has worked for more than 275 school districts in 20 states, managing more than $25 billion of planning, design, and construction. Our experience has ranged from the largest K-12 program in the nation to small, stand-alone charter schools. Our clients face growing demands for new facilities and the need to repair existing schools, yet they lack the adequate workforce to manage these efforts. Some districts hire us to support their staff; others hand over the entire management assignment to us.
Community Colleges – We have served more than 160 community colleges across the nation by providing facility condition assessments, preparing campus master plans, designing individual buildings, and managing entire bond programs.
Higher Education – Parsons has worked with more than 200 college and university campuses across the nation. Individual projects involve virtually every facility type and include numerous research laboratory buildings, classroom facilities, administrative buildings, student service centers, and infrastructure projects.

Research and Development
Parsons formed a K-12 Advisory Board and a Community College Advisory Board to aid us in maintaining a current understanding of the uniqueness of education clients, the changing issues they confront, and the impact of those issues on their facilities. These two outstanding groups of former superintendents, presidents, and board members advise us on research projects and our training programs to prepare future educational leaders.
An example of Parsons' leadership in educational facility issues is the two-day retreat Parsons organized in May 2007. Attendees included 20 leaders from California’s largest K-12 and community college districts, state government, legal, design, and construction communities. The findings were published in a document titled “A Report on the High Cost of Construction for K-12 Schools and Community Colleges in California”.
